Patriots will face Dashon Goldson after all

BY NICK ST. DENIS

Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Dashon Goldson has regularly been giving coaches headaches and players concussions through the first two weeks of the season.

The New England Patriots, who will host the Bucs Sunday, looked like they were going to avoid Goldson when the bruising center fielder was handed a one-game suspension for a helmet-to-helmet hit last week.

But Goldson appealed, and he won.

Wednesday, the NFL announced Goldson would be fined $100,000 for his hit on San Diego Chargers running back Darren Sproles. That coming on the heels of Goldson getting billed $30,000 for an illegal hit on New York Jets tight end Jeff Cumberland.

Goldson also gave Jets receiver Jeremy Kerley a concussion in that Week 1 bout, which kept Kerley sidelined last week.
