AFC East power rankings roundup: Week 8

BY SEAN DONOVAN

The distribution of AFC East teams in the rankings compressed a bit in Week 7, as the previous two leading teams in the division's standings, the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins, each lost heartbreaking games to divisional counterparts.

The New York Jets and Buffalo Bills will each need another strong performance to maintain their momentum, as they travel to face the 5-2 Cincinnati Bengals and 5-1 New Orleans Saints, respectively. Meanwhile, Miami will look to prevent a trip to New England from dropping them below .500 four games after starting 3-0.

Here's where the four AFC East teams stand in the major media outlets' NFL power rankings entering Week 8:

      NE    MIA   BUF    NYJ
ESPN 8(5) 16(14) 21(25) 15(20)
