Irvin: 'I'm embarrassed every day Reed isn't in HOF'

BY NICK ST. DENIS

Over the past few years, Andre Reed has become quite tired of sitting on the bubble of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Another former NFL receiving great is fed up, too.

"I'm embarrassed every day he's not in there," Hall-of-Famer Michael Irvin said of the Buffalo Bills legend, via Jeff Russo of WKBW-TV.

Reed, an eight-time finalist for the Hall of Fame, said prior to the 2012 HOF induction that he was "exhuasted" with the process. If he's snubbed again, he may finally pass out.

After 16 seasons, Reed retired in 2000 with the third-most receptions (951) and fourth-most yards (13,198) in the league's history. He also caught 78 touchdowns.

Irvin hauled in 750 receptions for 11,904 yards and 65 touchdowns. The former Dallas Cowboys star was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2007.

The 2014 inductees will be announced this weekend.
