With the big-name portion of free agency coming next week, teams are tying up loose ends in preperation.
Part of that is retaining reserve players and exclusive free agents, something the New York Jets did Wednesday and the Buffalo Bills did Thursday. Buffalo announced it tendered offers to receiver Chris Hogan, offensive lineman Antoine McClain and fullback Frank Summers.
The Bills also re-signed defensive back Brandon Smith.
Hogan and Summers are the notable names of the bunch, with the former having hauled in 10 passes for 87 yards last season in addition to regular contributions on special teams. He did his most damage in a win over the Jets with three receptions -- two for first downs.
Summers scored a touchdown in that game and went on total 46 rushing yards on 12 attempts throughout the season. He appeared in 15 games, starting nine.
McClain and Smith spent most of their 2013 seasons on the Bills' practice squad.
