Revis' longtime trainer says ACL is 'not even a factor'

BY NICK ST. DENIS

As far as Darrelle Revis' camp is concerned, the past is in the past. So is a major injury.

A year and a half removed from a season-ending ACL tear, Revis is training at full force early in the offseason -- leaps and bounds ahead of where he was this time last year.

"The fun thing for me is we’re starting with a person who played this year with basically no injury, so we can take him to the next level," Revis' longtime agent Brett Fischer said, via The Boston Herald. "I think fans in New England are going to see a guy who is even better than in the past because he has rehabilitated himself from the ACL.

"To have him to the point now, we don’t even mention the ACL. It’s not even a factor. He’s looked so well in all his drills. He’s looked great in everything he’s doing."

That's good news for the Patriots but bad news for everyone else, namely the rival New York Jets, who employed Revis for each of his three All-Pro seasons before trading him to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last offseason.

According to the Herald, Revis is currently working out with Patriots safeties Tavon Wilson and Adrian Wilson, with fellow defensive backs Logan Ryan and Devin McCourty joining the group before long.

That unit, which will also include the likes of Brandon Browner and Alfonzo Dennard, looks to be a major force in 2014.

"Now that (Revis) is with a new team, obviously a winning organization like that, he’s so fired up," Fischer said. "To see the determination that he has, he’s unbelievable."
