Gallon prepared to watch fair share of Edelman tape

BY NICK ST. DENIS

New England Patriots seventh round receiver Jeremy Gallon is a man with a plan. Or more specifically, a man with a lot film.

"I think that's the way to a coach's heart," Gallon said Thursday, via ESPN Boston." ... stay in the film room and learn everything you can as fast as you to get on the field as quick as you want to be."

The 5-foot-8, 184-pound wideout will be jockeying for position in the slot, where Julian Edelman has made his living with the Patriots the last five years.

So it's only fitting that Gallon's film study is, well, very Edelman-heavy.

"I'm just here to follow and fit in," Gallon, who holds the Michigan single-season record for receiving yardage with 1,373 yards, said. "If that means watching Edelman's film every day, that's what I'm doing.

"If he can give me any pointers, or at practice I'm watching him running routes 1-on-1 or even on air, as much knowledge as I can soak up from him or any receiver here is better for me. That's the way, to me, to becoming a great player."
