Marrone: Work with new staff has been 'great' so far

BY ALEX O'BRIEN

The Buffalo Bills swapped out five new assistants this offseason, so like the roster, the coaching staff is still very much taking shape.

According to Bills coach Doug Marrone, its so far, so good.

“It’s been great," Marrone said earlier this week of his work with the new group, via BuffaloBills.com. "Even though it might be our first time together it’s still a lot of information and a lot of crossover and people who have worked together with each other.

“I’m excited. This atmosphere is quite different than any other atmosphere in what we were trying to get accomplished. I think you’ll see an increase in OTAs of how we are on the field. Then you’ll see an increase when we get to training camp.”

In the wake of a franchise record-breaking season rushing the passer, new defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz headlines the list of new names on the Bills coaching staff, and he'll be tasked with maintaining the high level Mike Pettine left the unit at.

Other new additions to the staff include linebackers coach Fred Pagac, defensive line coach Pepper Johnson, quarterbacks coach Todd Downing and receivers coach Rob Moore.
