Darrelle Revis is with the enemy. Well, the used-to-be enemy.
The former New York Jets star cornerback took the practice field this week with his new team, his ex-rival New England Patriots, and needless to say, it's been a bit of an adjustment--a good one, though.
“It’s been awesome, but it’s been kind of weird in a way,” he said Friday, via ESPN Boston.
When asked about the bitterness between his old team--where he spent six years before a year stint with the Tampa Bay Bucaneers--and his new team, Revis put it simply. "That's rivalries."
“...I was on that side, and you’re not supposed to like your rival no matter where you play. Like I said, I’m here now, all that’s in the past, and all I can focus on is what I can do now. Right now I’m a Patriot and I’m excited to be here."
Revis will get his first crack at the team that drafted him Week 7 on a mid-October night in New England, and he'll don his new Patriots digs for the first time at the Meadowlands Week 16.
By then, Jets fans will be a little more used to seeing Revis in the hated foe's colors, but depending on how the season goes, the dynamic should interesting for that December date.
