Patriots flip snapper Ott for rookie tight end Jones

BY NICK ST. DENIS

The New England Patriots have re-signed rookie Justin Jones after releasing the undrafted tight end a week ago, according to multiple media reports.

In a corresponding move, the Patriots waived undrafted rookie long-snapper Tyler Ott, who signed with New England in May.

ESPN Boston's Mike Reiss first reported Ott's release, which leaves incumbent Danny Aiken alone in the snapper department of the Patriots' depth chart.

The 6-foot-8, 277 pound East Carolina product Jones amassed 598 yards and 12 touchdowns in three collegiate years as a starter.
