Patriots bring back snapper Aiken, 'backer White

BY EDITOR

The New England Patriots announced Thursday they have re-signed long snapper Danny Aiken and linebacker Chris White to the 53-man roster. They also re-signed quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson to the practice squad.

Aiken, 26, was released by the Patriots at the end of August after having handled all of the long snapping duties in 48 games and seven postseason games for New England since 2011.

White, 25, was dropped by the Patriots a day after Aiken. The 6-foot-3, 238-pounder, was claimed by the Patriots off waivers prior to the 2013 season.

Last year, White played in 16 games and finished with one tackle on defense and nine special teams tackles.

Bethel-Thompson, 26, is a third-year player undrafted reserve out of Sacramento State.
