For Fred Jackson, a week balancing rest and rehab

BY NICK ST. DENIS

Snowed in at home, Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson couldn't do a whole lot this past week.

Jackson missed last week's bout with the Miami Dolphins after re-aggrivating his groin injury and had been working his way back to full speed in time for this week's game against the New York Jets.

The time away from the facility gave him beneficial rest time, though it also kept him from the proper equipment to keep his recovery on the fast track.

“Obviously you want to rest it, and with these two days off I was able to do that," Jackson said Friday, via BuffaloBills.com. "But you want to be in the room with the trainers and go through some treatments and rehab and things like that and not being able to do that is something that could be a setback, but taking advantage of not doing anything is something that could help too."

The Bills finally got back on the practice field Friday night in Michigan in preparation for their recently re-scheduled Monday night AFC East battle with the New York Jets in Detroit.

"It felt good getting out there [Friday]," Jackson said. "Hopefully I can continue to progress well and play well on Monday.”
