Look for Fred Jackson to be on the field Sunday when the Buffalo Bills host the New York Jets.
Jackson told WGR 550 Monday morning he planned to play last Thursday before tweaking his groin Tuesday.
This time around, however, he'll be ready to go. Coach Doug Marrone, in fact, said Jackson probably would've been a go this past Sunday if that's when the Bills had played.
“I know with our training staff and doctors they’ll take every precaution we need to, but like coach Marrone said, if the game was yesterday there’s probably a pretty good chance that I would’ve played," he said. "So I’m planning on playing this Sunday and it’s just on me to go out there and take this week slowly and get back out there.”
After a multi-week stint off the field, Jackson returned Week 10 against the Kansas City Chiefs but re-aggrivated his injury in that game.
The Bills hope he can return for good this time around. Buffalo has an improbably battle ahead after losing to the Miami Dolphins, but the team is not mathematically out of the playoff picture yet.
