Interviews behind him, McDaniels ahead to Ravens

BY NICK ST. DENIS

New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels has the whole "interviewing for a head coaching job elsewhere" thing down.

So head coach Bill Belichick didn't flinch when McDaniels welcomed higher-ups from the coach-less Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers to New England last weekend for some one-on-one time regarding their respective vacant positions.

“We dealt with it as recently as last year, so it is what it is,” Belichick said Monday, via WEEI. “We have a job to do. I think Josh did a great job last year in terms of staying focused and doing his part in preparing for the postseason games and I think he’s done that again this year. There is no issues there.”

Belichick said the interviews were over by Saturday and within the league-structured time. McDaniels, meanwhile, didn't have a whole lot to share during his time with the media Monday.

"They were fine. It's part of the process and [you're] always obviously privileged that anybody wants to speak with you about anything like that," McDaniels said, via Patriots.com. "At this point I've moved on and hopefully [I] can help us put together a great plan for our guys heading into this week."

New England hosts the Baltimore Ravens, who are fresh off a Wildcard round victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers Saturday, this coming Saturday.
