Dolphins cut half of WR corps, drop Hartline, Gibson

Changes were expected within the Miami Dolphins' wide receiving corps before next season, and changes have come.

The team parted ways with wideouts Brian Hartline and Brandon Gibson Friday, according to Mike Rodak of ESPN.com, a move that cleared nearly $6.5 million in cap space but also wiped out the crux of the receiving depth chart. Hartline has been the team's No. 2 since they picked up Mike Wallace, while Gibson spent time as the team's full-time slot receiver prior to the signing of Jarvis Landry.

The pair had a serious drop-off in production in 2014 following pretty solid performances the year prior, combining for less than 1,000 yards and three touchdowns.
