Bills add, Pats drop as tight-end carousel continues

Being a tight end in the AFC East is a volatile profession.

Starting with an exciting free-agency shuffle back in March, the depth charts around the division have been ever-changing, and Thursday was no different.

Rex Ryan and the Buffalo Bills acquired former Jet and Patriot Matthew Mulligan, according to BuffaloBills.com, who spent time under Ryan from 2009-11. Since then, the 30-year-old journeyman has seen snaps with New England, St. Louis, Chicago, Arizona and Tennessee.

The Pats went the opposite direction Thursday, releasing Logan Stokes, according to WEEI.com. The 22-year-old rookie free agent signed with the team only a week ago when they released Tim Wright and also acquired Jimmay Mundine.
