Pats add Derek Cox to revamped CB depth chart

The new New England Patriots cornerback corps is beginning to take shape.

Following the acquisition of free-agent defensive backs Bradley Fletcher and Robert McClain back in March, the team continued to rebuild their depleted backfield Monday, signing 28-year-old Derek Cox.

The five-year pro was last with the Vikings and Ravens during training camp last season, though he was unemployed during the regular season. Prior to 2014, Cox spent four years in Jacksonville and one in San Diego.

New England has seen three key defensive backs leave since the team's Super Bowl win, including Darrelle Revis, who re-signed with the New York Jets.
