Jets sign undrafted free agent TE Matt LaCosse

The New York Jets announced Monday they signed free agent tight end Matt LaCosse, a rookie free agent out of Illinois. The team released defensive lineman Davon Walls in a corresponding move.

LaCosse, standing at 6-6, 240 pounds, first signed with the New York Giants in early May but was waived on August 1. He joins Jeff Cumberland, Jace Amaro, Kellen Davis, Steve Maneri, Wes Saxton and Arthur Lynch on the depth chart.

LaCosse played four seasons for Illinois, snagging 20 passes for 237 yards and three touchdowns in 2013 and 14 catches for 117 yards and three scores in 2014.
