Manuel hedging his bets as work with No. 3's continues


EJ Manuel's offseason has been anything but smooth sailing, and the third-year quarterback seems to finally be realizing the bumpy ride is far from over.

Currently the Buffalo Bills' No. 3 signal-caller -- which will continue for the team's second preseason game -- Manuel has struggled to gain any ground in the fight for the starting role.

Monday, he recognized that his third training camp with Buffalo could ultimately end with his release.

"At the end of the day, if I play well, it should take care of itself," he said via the Associated Press. "Whether it's here or whether it's somewhere else, I don't know.

"All I can do right now is continue to play well."
