Neck injury a 'scary moment' for Nick Mangold

New York Jets center Nick Mangold was barely moving with a minute to go Sunday afternoon against the New England Patriots, laying on his stomach after colliding with linebacker Jamie Collins.

It didn't look good. But the reliable center soon made it to the locker room underwent multiple tests on an apparent neck injury, and fortunately, they came back negative.

Jets coach Todd Bowles shared the good news Monday, and Tuesday, Mangold made an appearance on social media.

"Thanks for all the thoughts, prayers & well wishes," Mangold tweeted. "It was a scary moment and I appreciate the support."

Mangold's status is uncertain, but given that the injury ultimately wasn't serious and that he's a regular ironman (having missed just three games in nearly 10 seasons), he may make a quick return.
