After going undrafted in 2013, Swanson signed with the Indianapolis Colts and moved around to four other teams before joining the Dolphins' practice squad last December. Miami signed him to a reserve/futures contract in early January.
Swanson is Sam Houston State’s all-time career leader with 14 interceptions. He was a third-team All-American in 2011 and a two-time All-Southland Conference selection.
