Kyle Brindza's season is likely over before it came close to beginning.
The young kicker, who was recently signed by the New York Jets to join Nick Folk and soon-to-be free agent Randy Bullock on the depth chart, recently ruptured his Achilles tendon.
"I have worked my tail off to get another shot and I got it, but now I have to take a step back," he wrote on Instagram. I ruptured my Achilles completely during my kicking workout. I'm not mad. I'm not upset. Unfortunate? Yes. I know God has a plan and I have to trust it. This is just another chapter to my story. Time to get this thing fixed and start the road to recovery."

But this injury really stinks for Brindza, who entered the NFL out of Notre Dame last year. He was with the Lions and Tampa Bay in 2015. Near the end of training camp, the Lions traded him to Tampa Bay for tight end Tim Wright.
