Ajayi on taking reins of Dolphins' backfield: 'Let's go'

Following the news of Lamar Miller's departure and the missed opportunity on C.J. Anderson, Ryan Tannehill reached out to 22-year-old running back Jay Ajayi.

The sophomore, who ran for 187 yards on 49 carries in his rookie season, had only four words for him, according to the Palm Beach Post:
"He looked me square in the eye and said 'I’m ready, let’s go,'" Tannehill said. "I think he's excited about the opportunity to have a bigger role.
"You look at the subbing patterns from the last few years in Gase’s offense — he doesn’t run guys in and out through a series. A guy goes in and he plays a series. I think that’s going to be huge for guys like Jay who needs to get in to a rhythm and develop other parts of his game. You really saw him come on strong at the end of last year, the second half of last year. I think he’s going to come back and be even better this year."
