Bushrod on transitioning to guard: 'I'm up for it'

Earlier today, we discussed the possibility of newly acquired offensive lineman Jermon Bushrod moving to guard for the Miami Dolphins — a position he's never played.

Bushrod addressed that possibility and his thoughts about the move Friday during a conference call with reporters, via MiamiDolphins.com.

"You just have to get your timing down and things like that," Bushrod said. "The fight happens a little sooner at guard. I don’t see it being too tough of an obstacle. It’s going to be hard, but playing in the NFL is hard. It’s not an easy task.

"I’m up for it."

The 31-year-old confirmed he's never played guard at any level in a game, though he has taken snaps there in practice.
