Patriots gauge temperature of WRs but stay quiet

Not at all out of character, the New England Patriots stayed quiet on Day 1 of free agency.

They signed veteran linebacker Ramon Humber and released linebacker Dane Fletcher. Other than that, the waters were calm. That isn't to say they didn't test the temperature.

Per the Providence Journal:
The Patriots were linked to seven wide receivers on Wednesday - Marvin Jones, Travis Benjamin, Mohamed Sanu, Rishard Matthews, James Jones, Nate Washington and Anquan Boldin – but it became clear early that the market wasn’t in their favor.
Sanu reportedly will visit the Patriots if he doesn't agree to terms with the Atlanta Falcons during a trip to Georgia.
