Gang Green show support for Blueshirts at MSG
There’s a lot of uncertainty surrounding the New York Jets at the moment, but one thing is very certain — they, like us, love some playoff hockey.
Per the New York Post, some members of the Gang Green offense attended Game 3 of the New York Rangers – Pittsburgh Penguins series at Madison Square Garden Tuesday, heckling the Pens’ bench to the point they were warned by the security team to tone it down.
The hometown support was all for not, unfortunately, as the Blueshirts lost the game, 3-1, and are now down 2-1 in the series.

Decker hopeful Fitzpatrick will be back with Jets
New York Jets wide receiver Eric Decker thinks Gang Green can make another nice run next season, but with better results. That is, of course, if he can re-connect with his quarterback.
Ryan Fitzpatrick was expected to re-sign with the Jets for at least another year, but he still remains a pending free agent in early March.
The Jets would be wise to bring back the veteran signal-caller, who threw for a team-record 31 touchdown passes and helped New York to a 10-6 record--even though the season came to a bitter end with a Week 17 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Decker thinks (or hopes) Fitz will be back in green this year.
Via Kimberley Martin of Newsday:
“I assume that we’re going to get Fitzpatrick back,” Decker said of his soon-to-be free agent. “I don’t know, to be honest. I’ve been texting him, but I don’t think he even knows.
“Maybe he does,” he added with a laugh. “He’s just not telling any of us.”READ MORE >>

Marshall-Decker a record-setting duo for Jets
Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker have emerged as the NFL's most endzone-friendly duo.
The two wideouts have combined for 21 touchdowns--a new franchise record with two games still to play.
Decker hauled in his 10th touchdown of the season Saturday night in a win over the Dallas Cowboys as the Jets improved to 9-5. Marshall has 11 receiving scores.
The pair of wideouts are catching passes from veteran journeyman Ryan Fitzpatrick, who is closing in on a franchise record of his own. He's three touchdown passes away from tying the team record of 29.

Eric Decker day-to-day with sprained knee ligament
Fortunately for the New York Jets, things aren't so serious with wide receiver Eric Decker.
After putting together a first-half stellar performance Monday night against the Indianapolis Colts, Decker went down to a knee injury early in the fourth quarter.
But an MRI Tuesday revealed only a sprained ligament, according to Newsday.
Decker is now day-to-day, according to coach Todd Bowles. His status is very much up in the air for Sunday when the Philadelphia Eagles come to town.
"If he's not moving well, obviously, he's not going to play," Bowles said. "But time will tell. He's got a little bit of time. I'm hopeful. But it's not out of the realm [of possibility] that he won't play either."
Fellow wideout Chris Owusu, meanwhile, suffered a leg injury the game and may be out two weeks.

Jets happy with Eric Decker's work in the slot
The New York Jets wide receiver was lined up in the slot for most of his on-field action last weekend against the Cleveland Browns, and it was a success, according to his offensive coordinator.
"He's got a unique feel inside," Gailey said, via ESPN.com. "Some guys do and some guys don't. I've had some guys that couldn't play in there at all. We kind of threw him in there early and he had a great feel for it so we are going to working him in the slot there until he proves he shouldn't be there."
Decker snagged a pair of receptions for 37 yards but also found the end zone in the win, and he helped divert some attention from Brandon Marshall, who hauled in six catches for 62 yards and a score.
Chris Owusu, the third wideout, grabbed four receptions for 55 yards.
Gang Green is looking to work rookie Devin Smith into the mix Monday against the Indianapolis Colts, and Jeremy Kerley's role has yet to be defined.

Eric Decker doesn't seem too fond of returning punts
Eric Decker returned punts for the New York Jets Saturday night against the New York Giants. It wasn't the greatest of decisions.
Decker shined in his wide receiver duties with three catches for 52 yards and a touchdown, but he struggled returning punts--a position he probably shouldn't have been in to begin with.
He caught one and was tackled for no gain, should've fair caught the second but didn't, and muffed the third.
"I'll try to get better at it," Decker said after the game, via NJ.com. "But, hopefully, we'll find a guy."
Decker didn't return any punts in the second half. Walt Powell did, though, and returned one 54 yards for a score.

Stacked defensive front had Decker 'salivating'
BY EDITOR
The New York Jets ran all over the Miami Dolphins early Monday night, to the tune of more than 200 yards in the first half alone.
However, the Dolphins caught on after the mid-game break, loading up the defensive front all second half and daring the Jets to finally let quarterback Geno Smith air it out.
But the Jets never took the dare. And then they lost, again. This time 16-13.

Decker: Reunion is 'different, but football is football'
BY EDITOR
The New York Jets are desperate for a win. They're also desperate to get their No. 1 receiver back on the field.
The New York Jets are desperate for a win. They're also desperate to get their No. 1 receiver back on the field.
Eric Decker was held out of Gang Green's blowout loss to the San Diego Chargers with a hamstring ailment, though Decker is looking to return to the field Sunday against the team that drafted and housed him for four years.
“I’ve never been in this situation where I’m going to see teammates that I played with for four years standing on the other side of the field," Decker said this week, via NewYorkJets.com. "It’s going to be a little different. But for me, football is football.

Decker knows his uncertainty 'can be difficult on a QB'
BY NICK ST. DENIS
New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith's shortcomings have been well-documented through this young season, though he actually hasn't been terrible when you consider what he's working with.
Smith has gone into every game this season unsure if his No. 1 receiver--Eric Decker--will be full-go, let alone whether Decker will even finish the game.
Decker has just 14 receptions and two touchdowns through four games this season, in large part due to an ailing hamstring he's been battling throughout.

Lal making sure young Jets wideouts watch Decker
BY NICK ST. DENIS
Sometimes, it's not so easy to recognize what's right in front of you.
Sanjay Lal, the New York Jets' wide receivers coach, has been using some film this offseason of Gang Green's prized free agent acquisition, Eric Decker, to show the youngsters how it's done.
But according to Lal, Decker wasn't necessarily a familiar face to everyone.

Decker well-aware of QB transition but up to task
BY NICK ST. DENIS
There's only one Peyton Manning. Eric Decker knows that.
The former Denver Broncos wide receiver signed a pretty hefty five-year contract with the New York Jets Wednesday night, and with that, will now be catching passes from second-year quarterback Geno Smith.
It will be a transition, to say the least, but one Decker says he's prepared for.

Decker extends visit to New York, signs with Jets
BY NICK ST. DENIS
Eric Decker had a couple more visits scheduled after the New York Jets Wednesday, but Gang Green wasn't about to let him get to them.
Just hours after the New England Patriots inked former Jet cornerback Darrelle Revis to a pricey one-year contract, the Jets responded by signing the former Denver Broncos wide receiver Decker.
Decker was spotted dining out with Jets coach Rex Ryan & Co., and it appeared all parties were happy. Perception was reality.

Jets dine Eric Decker while eying James Jones
BY NICK ST. DENIS
Wednesday, the New York Jets were wining and dining arguably the top free agent wide receiver in Eric Decker, formerly of the Denver Broncos.
Meanwhile, they've taken a keen interest in another veteran pass-catcher.
According to the NY Daily News, the Jets have expressed a "real interest" in former Green Bay Packers pass-catcher James Jones. Unlike with Decker, however, they haven't reached the meeting portion of their pursuit.
