Jets happy with Eric Decker's work in the slot

Chan Gailey likes where Eric Decker is at on the field.

The New York Jets wide receiver was lined up in the slot for most of his on-field action last weekend against the Cleveland Browns, and it was a success, according to his offensive coordinator.

"He's got a unique feel inside," Gailey said, via ESPN.com. "Some guys do and some guys don't. I've had some guys that couldn't play in there at all. We kind of threw him in there early and he had a great feel for it so we are going to working him in the slot there until he proves he shouldn't be there."

Decker snagged a pair of receptions for 37 yards but also found the end zone in the win, and he helped divert some attention from Brandon Marshall, who hauled in six catches for 62 yards and a score.

Chris Owusu, the third wideout, grabbed four receptions for 55 yards.

Gang Green is looking to work rookie Devin Smith into the mix Monday against the Indianapolis Colts, and Jeremy Kerley's role has yet to be defined.
