Odrick: 9-7 record means nothing with no playoffs

The Miami Dolphins will be out for a pair of moral victories the next two weeks when they take on the Minnesota Vikings and New York Jets, respectively.

A two-game sweep, however, won't be enough to lift the morale of the locker room if they miss the playoffs for the 12th time in 13 years--a likely scenario given their playoff hopes are slim to none.

“Finishing 9-7 and not going to the playoffs doesn’t mean a thing," defensive lineman Jared Odrick said this week, via Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald.

For the first time in five seasons, the middle of the Miami Dolphins' defensive line will be without its anchor, defensive tackle Paul Soliai.

One of the candidates to pick up some of the slack from Soliai's departure is former first round pick Jared Odrick.

Odrick, entering his fifth NFL season, was a part-time defensive tackle last season, after playing defensive end in Miami's 4-3 the year prior, after being drafted to play end in the 3-4 back in 2010.
