Three's a charm: Jets finally sign Josh Cribbs

BY NICK ST. DENIS

The New York Jets hosted ex-Cleveland Browns return specialist and receiver Josh Cribbs for a visit in May but didn't offer him a deal.

They brought him in again at the beginning of October, but according to Kimberley A. Martin of Newsday, general manager John Idzik said Cribbs wasn't "quite there yet. But he's probably getting close."

Both sides are now ready. The Jets signed the former All-World return man Tuesday, via multiple media reports.

Geno likely to go primetime without top two WRs

BY NICK ST. DENIS

Last year, Mark Sanchez went into a midseason Monday night game against the Houston Texans without Santonio Holmes and Stephen Hill.

This year, Geno Smith will get the same treatment.

Holmes is expected to miss multiple weeks with a hamstring ailment, according to Kimberley A. Martin of Newsday. Hill, meanwhile, is not expected to be recovered from a concussion by the time the Jets travel to Atlanta to face the Falcons Monday.
