San Francisco 49ers wideout Randy Moss has never been one to mince words. He continued that trend Tuesday during Super Bowl Media Day.
The self-proclaimed greatest receiver of all time touched on everything from comparing Jim Harbaugh and Bill Belichick to stating he wasn't happy with his current role. But the former New England Patriot did have some not-so-outlandish things to say, namely, for our purposes, about his time in Foxborough. (photo: Dave Rezendes, Flickr)
Moss, who likely has his last shot at a ring Sunday when the 49ers face the Baltimore Ravens, said he learned a little something about work ethic during his Patriot stretch, especially thanks to a particular player.

Moss's insight to 49ers on New England: 'It's cold'
BY DAN BEGNOCHE
To play in Gillette Stadium in December is one of the toughest tasks for a road team in the NFL.
So it's no surprise that San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith would look to teammate and former Patriots star Randy Moss for some pregame advice. After all, having a locker next to Moss has been a "dream come true."
The answer, however, may not have been as thorough as Smith expected. (photo: Steve Glass, Flickr)
“He said it's cold,” Smith told reporters Wednesday via conference call.

Belichick: Moss is 'the smartest WR I've coached'
BY NICK ST. DENIS
The New England Patriots have been a wide receiver carousel the past half decade, and few receivers got as much out of the ride as Randy Moss.
The now-San Francisco 49ers wideout caught 23 touchdowns during the Patriots' record-setting 2007 campaign and helped New England's offense score over 38 points a game en route to a near-perfect season that fell a game short in the Super Bowl. (photo: Dave Rezendes, Flickr)
“He’s an explosive, dynamic player that’s probably the smartest receiver I’ve ever coached,” Patriots coach Bill Belichick told the 49ers media in a conference call Wednesday. “I know he absolutely knows what he’s doing, knows what the defense is doing and knows how to attack the defense.”

New England a potential (re-)landing spot for Moss
BY NICK ST. DENIS
Randy Moss announced Monday morning via a live Ustream.tv video feed that he plans on returning to professional football. Moss turned 35 years old the same day.
"I just wanna go to a team and play some football," Moss said, according to Pro Football Talk.
For what it's worth, Pro Football Talk also reported that the Patriots "still like" Moss, who visited Patriots owner Robert Kraft after the death of Kraft's wife, Myra.
