Dolphins' protectors to face another tough task

By Dan Begnoche

As the Miami Dolphins look to win their fourth game in five tries, the Oakland Raiders will be looking to do what seemingly every team has been able to do against Miami this season: get to the quarterback.

The Dolphins’ offensive line has given up the fourth most sacks in the league thus far, and teams have hit Miami quarterbacks more than 30 percent of the time they have dropped back. And with the defensive duo of Richard Seymour and Tommy Kelly leading the pass rush, Miami’s offensive line will have its hands full.

“It’s another challenge for our offensive line,” coach Tony Sparano told the media Friday. “These two guys are very active, both put a lot of pressure on the passer what they do in Oakland defensively. But our guys have played good players all year long. These are just two more players that are outstanding players in our league.”

Seymour and Kelly have a combined 11.5 sacks, including an interception and a fumble recovery. Linebacker Kamerion Wimbley has come on as of late as well, recording five sacks in the past two games and leading the team with seven.

“They bring a lot of pressure and that’s something we need to clean up,” running back Reggie Bush told the media this past week. “A little bit of pressure got to Matt (Moore) this last game. We gotta clean that part of the game up … They’re fast, and they’re big up front.”

Miami gave up four sacks last weekend vs. Dallas in its 20-19 last-second loss.
