Patriots to host Donald Jones, Leon Washington

BY NICK ST. DENIS

The plug-and-play New England Patriots continue their assembling Thursday in hosting a pair of familiar faces.

According to Tim Graham of the Buffalo News, former Buffalo Bills receiver Donald Jones will pay a visit to Patriots headquarters.

The Bills opted not to bring back Jones, who was a restricted free agent, last month. We figured at least one recent Bills receiver, since Buffalo also opted to let David Nelson walk, could find his way back into the AFC East, and Jones apparently is a good candidate for that.

The 25-year-old Jones snagged 41 catches for 433 yards and four touchdowns in 12 games in 2012.

Washington, a career standout return man and change-of-pace back, will be 31-years-old at the start of the 2013 season. He has eight kick returns for touchdowns in seven years, rushing for 16 and catching for two more in that span.

If the Patriots were to acquire Washington, they'd likely be parting with another former Jet in Danny Woodhead.
