Pouncey gearing up for blitzing Browns

BY NICK ST. DENIS

The Miami Dolphins expect a lot of blitzing from the Cleveland Browns Sunday, which has raised center Mike Pouncey's antennas.

Pouncey faces the tall task of dissecting Browns defensive coordinator Ray Horton's attacking front and getting the rest of his unit on the same page before snapping the ball to Ryan Tannehill. Then he has to block.

So the now veteran offensive lineman is using all his resources this week and recently reached out to his twin brother, Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey, for a scouting report on the Browns' personnel.

"He plays them two times a year so I called him up and asked him how those guys play, their tendencies," Pouncey said, according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald. "It's good having a brother who plays in the NFL, especially the same position."

Horton is in his first year with the Browns, but he spent seven season coaching within a Steelers defense that Maurkice faces every day in practice.

As Salguero pointed out, the Dolphins faced Horton last year when he ran the Arizona Cardinals' defense. Miami had mixed results in that game, as they accumulated close to 500 yards but turned the ball over four times and gave up as many sacks.

The Dolphins expect quite the challenge in Horton's new Browns unit.

"They have a big defensive line. They have good pass rushers," Pouncey said. "They got a good coach over there that tends to mix up a lot of different blitzes so we can't wait to see what he brings."

Cleveland and Arizona tied for 11th in sacks last year with 38 apiece.
