Patriots new and old cracking top-100 lists

BY DAN BEGNOCHE

Bill Belichick’s New England Patriots squad is chock full of Hall-of-Fame prospects. At least as chock full as one team can be.

From a veteran quarterback with three Super Bowl rings to a tight end whose forever changed the position, it doesn’t take much effort to identify the keys to their years of success.

And though Bill is always quick to quash any talk besides his team-first rhetoric, Field Yates of ESPN.com identified a handful of players on the roster Monday that have made at least one list of the league’s top 100 players heading into the season.

While we certainly don't agree with every name on the list (though who can argue with Darrelle Revis), it's pretty apparent that New England--barring another plague of injuries--has the on-paper talent to capably defend its division title.
