CB Taylor hoping limited looks enough to earn '15 role

Miami Dolphins cornerback Jamar Taylor has seen less than 350 snaps in his first two years in the league, but he's hoping his small contributions lead to a bigger role in 2015.

The 24-year-old defensive back has been plagued with injuries since being drafted 54th overall by Miami, first dealing with hernia surgery his rookie year, then a shoulder injury this season.

Behind two big-league defenders in Brent Grimes and Cortland Finnegan, Taylor's hoping his flashes of greatness in his limited playing time are enough to keep him around and relevant next season.

"I feel like I’ve done enough in the games I have played," he told Alain Poupart of miamidolphins.com. "I’ve been thrown in the fire a couple of times and I played OK. There’s been times I played four quarters of games and I played good.

"But consistency comes with playing time. You’ve got to get on the field to be consistent."
