Coyle to keep his job as Dolphins' D-coordinator


Coaches and players, alike, have absorbed plenty of blame for the Miami Dolphins' well-documented struggles through the latter part of the 2014 season. Meanwhile, the team's higher-ups are still sparing the leader of the defense, despite the opinion of some in the locker room.

According to Andrew Abramson of The Palm Beach Post, defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle will continue in his current role for at least another year.

"Coyle has been under fire since the Dolphins last season collapse. Miami gave up an average of 32 points per game in its final six games," writes Abramson. "But the decision makers believe the issues were more on the players than the coaches, according to sources. The players may disagree. Dolphins linebacker Philip Wheeler said late in the season that both the players and Coyle were to blame for the struggles."
