Negotiations holding up Chan Gailey joining Jets

At the end of last week, by most accounts, Chan Gailey to the New York Jets was a done deal. According to the offensive coordinator prospect, those assumptions were premature.

The former Buffalo Bills coach Gailey is stuck in limbo with Gang Green, and ESPN reported earlier Monday that a deal may not happen. NJ.com followed up with Gailey, who said that while "two or three" other teams have inquired about his services, he's made the Jets his priority.

"We're in negotiations at this point, but we just haven't (finalized anything)," Gailey told NJ.com Monday. "I really like Todd [Bowles]. I think he's great, from all I know about him. We've never worked together, but from all I know about him. We're just in negotiations, trying to get it worked out. And either we will or we won't, one or the other."
