Special teams to decide Bills' wideout battle

BY NICK ST. DENIS

The Buffalo Bills injected a lot of youth and ambition into their wide receiver corps this offseason. In training camp, they're letting it sort itself out.

After veteran Stevie Johnson, the remaining spots on the receiver depth chart are mostly wide open.

Young speeders T.J. Graham and Marquise Goodwin are jockeying for position alongside Robert Woods and Da'Rick Rogers. Add in returners Marcus Easley, Chris Hogan and Brad Smith, and the Bills' Week 1 lineup could take on many different looks.

Marrone reminds Rogers 'what being a pro is'

BY NICK ST. DENIS

Buffalo Bills coach Doug Marrone was impressed with rookie wide receiver Da'Rick Rogers Friday. Except on one occasion.

During the Bills' final OTA practice, Rogers got his coach's attention with a nice route, move and catch on a 15-yard pass from fellow rookie E.J. Manuel. What Rogers did after the play, however, caught Marrone's attention for a different reason. (photo: Tennessee Journalist, Flickr)

"The thing that concerned me -- and I addressed it with him right after he made a very good catch, then he kind of stood there over a player, and that’s a 15-yard penalty -- that's not what being a pro is, and that's not playing like a Buffalo Bill," Marrone said after the session, according to Mark Gaughan of The Buffalo News.

Bills ship Sheppard, ink Rogers among roster moves

BY DAN BEGNOCHE

The Buffalo Bills' 222nd pick in last weekend's NFL Draft was far from their last roster move.

General manager Buddy Nix and his crew have been busy the past 48 hours, snatching up more than a dozen undrafted prospects and cutting four off the roster. That's not counting a little switcheroo at linebacker. (photo: Tennessee Journalist, Flickr)

Buffalo struck a trade with the Indianapolis Colts Monday, sending Kelvin Sheppard off for 24-year-old Jerry Hughes.

Bills scout compares WR prospect to Eric Moulds

BY DAN BEGNOCHE

It's no secret that the Buffalo Bills are looking for another wide receiver.

Buffalo has passed on a number of big and mid-name wideouts since the free agency period began, leading us to believe that the need will be filled this weekend during the draft. (photo: Tennessee Journalist, Flickr)

Tom Roth, the Bills' scout for college football's SCC and ACC divisions, shed a little light on Tuesday about one player the team has been eyeing down south -- former Tennessee and Tennessee Tech star Da'Rick Rogers.
