Gronk, Goodwin, Hogan among SI's Top 50 Most Fit

Sports Illustrated put together a list of the most impressive male athletes in the world, and some familiar faces from the division made the cut.

Based on six criteria — strength (or "strengh," as their infographic depicts), speed, endurance, agility, flexibility and skill in his or her respective sport — they, with the help of a large panel of trainers, coaches, experts and coaches, put together the 50 most fit male athletes.

Here are your AFC East shout-outs:

18. Marquise Goodwin - Buffalo Bills
"Some know Goodwin as an NFL wide receiver while others remember him for his track-and-field accomplishments in the long jump, including an appearance at the 2012 London Olympics. From leaping into the sand pit to squatting more than 400 pounds, Goodwin's feats in two elite professional sports speak to his impressive athletic abilities."

38. Chris Hogan - New England Patriots
"Hogan may not be one of the most notable players in the NFL, but the former college lacrosse standout and New Jersey native is training to be one of the league's top (and fittest) wide receivers. His high-intensity workouts hone balance, agility and explosiveness through exercises such as sprints and sled pushes. It's only right that he trains at a facility called 'Freak Strength.'"

46. Rob Gronkowski - New England Patriots
"Gronkowski's 6'6'', 265-pound frame is near impossible to stop on the football field thanks to his intense workouts and commitment to fitness. Now Gronk is taking his passion one step further with his new family business, Gronk Fitness Products, a line of performance fitness products built for sports facilities and home gyms."

Rex happy for Hogan, still wants to 'kick his butt'

Rex Ryan doesn't seem completely over the loss of wide receiver Chris Hogan just yet.

The 27-year-old shipped off to the division rival New England Patriots on a three-year, $12 million deal this offseason, simultaneously creating holes on Buffalo's wide receiving and special teams depth charts.

And while it's clear Ryan and Bills weren't willing to pony up that type of dough for the fourth-year pro, he certainly understands what he's lost.

"That kid's tougher than heck. I really like the guy," Ryan said via ESPN.com. Big, physical, another great contributor on special teams and he's a good receiver. [Belichick] knew what he was getting.

"I'm happy for [Hogan]. Still going to try to kick his butt, but I'm happy for him."

Hogan agrees to Pats offer sheet, puts Bills on clock

7-11 looks like he'll be opening up a new location in Foxborough.

Wide receiver Chris Hogan, who's played for the Buffalo Bills the past three seasons, has reportedly accepted a three-year, $12 million offer sheet from the New England Patriots.

According to ESPN.com, the first-year cap hit on the offer is north of $5 million, which may be more than Buffalo is willing to pay for the 27-year-old.

Per Mike Reiss:
"Because Hogan received a low tender offer as a restricted free agent ($1.6 million) and entered the NFL as an undrafted player, the Bills would not receive compensation should they not match the offer."
Once the sheet is officially signed, Buffalo has five days to match the deal.

Bills retain the rights of restricted free agent trio

The Buffalo Bills retained the rights of three restricted free agents Monday, tendering qualifying contract offers to defensive tackle Corbin Bryant, wide receiver Chris Hogan and tackle Jordan Mills.

Per the team's website:
Making 10 starts in place of the injured Kyle Williams, Bryant contributed 45 tackles including a pair for loss. The 28-year old figures to be an important cog in Buffalo’s defensive line rotation.
Hogan, 27, is coming off a 2015 season in which he established a single-season career high in receiving yards with 450 and a pair of touchdowns.
... [Mills will] be part of an anticipated three-man right tackle competition for the starting job in training camp this summer.

Hogan's third-down reliabity earning him a roster spot

BY DAN BEGNOCHE

Third down was a nightmare for the entire Buffalo Bills offense last season. Well, with one exception.

Chris Hogan had only 10 receptions for 83 yards during the team’s 2013 campaign. He may not have seen a ton of action in his third year in the league, but he was certainly relied upon to help move the chains.

Of those 10 catches, 40 percent of them yielded a first down, a rare bright spot in a unit that had only a 34 percent conversion rate on third down.

Bills WR Hogan ready to run through defenders in slot

BY DAN BEGNOCHE

Wide receiver Chris Hogan is only a small part of a large Buffalo Bills wide receiving corps this offseason. Well, not that small.

Despite reportedly losing some poundage prior to OTAs, Hogan is still one of the bulkiest receivers currently on Buffalo roster. Officially listed at 6-foot-1 and 220 pounds, he's on the shorter side of the group but the second heaviest behind former Giant Ramses Barden.

The 25-year-old is hoping to use some of that extra weight to his advantage in the slot role, where he's been currently taking the bulk of his reps, as well as on special teams.

Bills finally back to having options at receiver

BY DAN BEGNOCHE

Contrary to previous weeks, the Buffalo Bills receiving corps is healthy, and the depth chart is stocked. For coach Doug Marrone, that leaves some interesting and unfamiliar decisions to be made.

"I think this is the first time where we really have to sit down and see who is going to be the inactives for the game," Marone said Wednesday, via buffalobills.com. "Before it’s been easy, the guys that were injured were all inactive; we didn’t have to make a lot of decisions.

"Going in to this game, we did have to make a couple decisions on who is going to be up and who is going to be down. I’m excited about that, those are good decisions."

Special teams to decide Bills' wideout battle

BY NICK ST. DENIS

The Buffalo Bills injected a lot of youth and ambition into their wide receiver corps this offseason. In training camp, they're letting it sort itself out.

After veteran Stevie Johnson, the remaining spots on the receiver depth chart are mostly wide open.

Young speeders T.J. Graham and Marquise Goodwin are jockeying for position alongside Robert Woods and Da'Rick Rogers. Add in returners Marcus Easley, Chris Hogan and Brad Smith, and the Bills' Week 1 lineup could take on many different looks.
