Ja'Wuan James could play in Dolphins' season finale


The Miami Dolphins could use some help on the offensive line. At least for the season finale, they may get a little.

According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, tackle Ja'Wuan James may return to the lineup Sunday against the New England Patriots.

Per Salguero:
The Dolphins are hoping right tackle Ja'Wuan James can return to the lineup after going out, ironically, against the Patriots in October with a toe injury. Interim coach Dan Campbell said today that James has the best chance to play of the four. James practiced full today.

Pouncey thinks James is up to challenge at LT

Starting a rookie at left tackle is a stressful call for any coach to make, even with a No. 1 pick. Starting one on a short week against the league's No. 1 sack squad? That's just plain terrifying.

Nobody seems to shaking in their cleats down in Miami though, as the loss of Pro Bowler Branden Albert for the season has opened the door for youngster Ja'Wuan James to slide over and fill his shoes.

James has held his own on the right side on the line through nine games this season, and his teammates seem confident in his abilities on the blind side.

Dolphins target expected position, 'surprise' James

Most expected the Miami Dolphins to take an offensive lineman with their first round draft pick, but their choice at the No. 19 slot was a bit of a surprise.

The Dolphins selected former Tennessee offensive tackle Ja'Wuan James to solidify their offensive front, a move that nearly completes a rebuild of an offensive line that gave up a league-high 58 sacks in 2013.

Where they went with the pick wasn't a surprise, but they took a prospect generally considered to be outside the top-tier of college tackles.
