Cro gives Sherman advice on being a top corner

New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie doesn't think Richard Sherman is better than Darrelle Revis. And he apparently doesn't think it's close.

In fact, Cro had some advice Tuesday for the vocal Seattle Seahawks defensive back if he wants to compare himself to Revis--or anyone else, for that matter.

"I would tell him, go follow the No. 1 receiver," Cromartie told SiriusXM NFL Radio, via Newsday. "Follow him around for a whole entire game and see what you can do. Darrelle Revis has done that his whole career. I've done that. [Cardinals cornerback] Patrick Peterson has done it. [Browns cornerback] Joe Haden has done it.

"He's the only defensive back that hasn't," he continued. "If you want to label yourself as the No. 1 corner or the best corner in the NFL, follow the best guy on every single team."

Richard Sherman blasts Kraft-Goodell relationship

Richard Sherman just can't help himself.

Sunday, the oft-mouthy Seattle Seahawks cornerback weighed in on whether he thinks the New England Patriots will face repercussions for "DeflateGate."

"Will they be punished? Probably not," Sherman said, via NJ.com. "Not as long as (New England Patriots owner) Robert Kraft and (NFL commissioner Rodger) Goodell are taking pictures at their respective homes. I think he was just at Kraft's house last week for the NFC Championship. Talk about conflict of interest."

Richard Sherman really likes the Jets' new coach

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman certainly has a way with words. Those words are often fired at opponents, though not always as nicely as they were with former Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles last month.

Bowles, now the New York Jets' head coach, drew some particularly high praise from arguably the NFL's best cornerback.

After the Seahawks ousted the Cardinals in December, Sherman told Bowles he was "the best D-coordinator I've seen."

Sherman hopes Patriots let Browner do his thing

BY DAVID HEIM

The New England Patriots are familiar with loud-mouth cornerback Richard Sherman—see Week 6 of the 2012 season.

The Seattle Seahawks superstar has opened his mouth again, but this time praising the Patriots and their newest additions to the secondary--cornerbacks Darrelle Revis and former Seahawk Brandon Browner.

Sherman made it a point that he's not concerned about Browner's ability to catch on quickly with his new team, as long as the team lets him be himself.

Rex: Sherman is great, but not vintage-Revis great

BY NICK ST. DENIS

Within the last half-decade, Darrelle Revis was widely regarded as the best cornerback in the NFL for a two or three-year span during his time with the New York Jets.

That title has now been unofficially adopted by Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman, and Revis' former coach Rex Ryan agrees.

However, Ryan doesn't think Sherman's best -- or anyone's best, for that matter -- can match Revis at his peak.

Revis, Sherman engage in entertaining Twitter spat

BY SEAN DONOVAN

Perhaps no player in league has dominated his position in recent years quite like New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis. He has, at times, handled an entire side of the field for a Jets defense that has been a top-ranked unit for most of his career.

With that type of dominance, having your name invoked by peers comes with the territory. But Revis is apparently a little sick of one up-and-coming corner doing just that:

Patriots look to use Seattle CBs' size to advantage

BY NICK ST. DENIS

The Seattle Seahawks' cornerbacks are tall. Two of the New England Patriots' top receivers aren't.

Brandon Browner stands at 6-foot-4, 221 pounds, and Richard Sherman is a slimmer 6-foot-3 at 195 pounds. Receiver Wes Welker, whose team will be up against the duo Sunday, is 5-foot-9, 185 pounds. Fellow Patriots receiver Deion Branch is also 5-9, and Brandon Lloyd is 6-0.

"Obviously, they're bigger guys, taller guys with longer arms," Welker told reporters Thursday. "They do a good job of being patient and staying square to the line. But you've got to get them moving, you've got to do some different things to them and try to get their body weight going and try to work them in different ways like that."

The Seahawks' defense is extremely aggressive, and their cornerbacks are no exception. Both Browner and Sherman are in the top six on the team in tackles and combine for three forced fumbles and three interceptions.
